Better RSVP questions. Better introductions.

A guest’s name is a start. A professional profile link, company and current role give Gatherwise more context to distinguish people with similar names—and give you a useful place to start a conversation.

Three questions worth adding

Keep full name and email. For a professional event, make a profile link and company/role your priority. Offer a professional-website alternative and keep X optional.

  1. “What’s your LinkedIn profile or professional website?”

A direct personal profile, team bio or portfolio helps distinguish one person from another. Ask for the full link beginning with https://.

  2. “What’s your company or organization, and your current role?”

Use separate company and job-title fields where possible. “Product designer at Acme” gives more context than “Tech.” Independent guests can name their studio or practice.

  3. “What’s your X handle or profile URL?” (Optional)

A guest-supplied professional account gives you a clear starting point for public work and announcements. X import and research are planned; Gatherwise does not use this answer yet.

Bringing the answers in with a CSV

Use name and email for the required columns. Add role, organization and profileUrl for the optional details. Each row should describe one guest; a profile link should use HTTPS.

The importer also recognizes job title or title, company or Company Name, and profile URL, LinkedIn or LinkedIn URL. If your export uses the full question as a column heading, use the field-matching step to choose which column contains each detail. You can keep your existing headings. Check the preview before confirming the import.

Using Luma registration questions

In Luma, open Manage Event → Registration and add the Social Profile (LinkedIn) and Company questions. Set them up before sharing your invitation: changes apply to new registrants. You can choose which questions are optional. Luma’s registration-question guide has the setup steps.

Gatherwise reads the LinkedIn profile answer and the company and job-title fields from the Company answer. A general text question with a similar label does not automatically map to those fields.

Other custom answers are not imported. You can still ask “What are you working on?” or “Who would you like to meet?” for your own event planning, but those answers do not currently become researched facts in Gatherwise.

A little context helps; review still matters

If your guests rarely use X, ask “What are you working on, or who would you like to meet?” instead. Keep that answer for your own event planning until custom-answer import is available.

A supplied link helps identify which person a guest means. It does not guarantee that the page can be read or that research will find a match. Check the sources and uncertainty in each attendee brief before relying on a result. A blank field or missing result does not mean someone lacks relevant experience.
